THE MINDSET OF THE WEALTHY PART4

Here is the concluding series and Grande finale on the mindset of the wealthy.

To be wealthy, there is the need for a mind reset about money, risks, investments, time and jobs. Take time to reassess your perspective about these paramount issues, and set a course of action to produce your desired results. Remember, you are a product of what you think and believe.

Never allow yourself be deterred by obstacles on your journey to being wealthy, rather see the obstacles as wind upon which you soar. Scot Anderson, in his book “think like a billionaire, become a billionaire”, pp 129-131, identified three categories of people. 1. The Quitter; who readily gives up. 2. The Settler; who easily gives in and settles in her comfort zone. 3. The Achiever; who is the go-getter. Which would you rather be?

Wealth is always attracted to value, to increase in wealth, there must be a corresponding increase in your problem solving abilities. A technique on problem solving culled from the same book above is described as follows. Take at least 5 minutes to think about a problem, with this you get an ordinary solution. Take an additional 5 minutes, and you come up with a good solution. Lastly, take another extra 5 minutes, totaling 15 minutes and you get a great solution (Scott Anderson, 2006).

Always bear this in mind “money is a tool”, use it, and do not let it use you!!!

Let’s touch briefly on the subject of TIME. This is the most valuable asset anyone could ever have. It is more precious than money. Keep track of your daily activities, cos this shows how you spend your time. This in turn determines your future. “Your time is a seed, where you plant it will determine your harvest”.

Place a premium value on your time, so that you do not waste it. Also, never allow anyone waste your time. Food for thought: What kind of people surround you? Are they spurring you on towards your goal? Or are they holding you back? PS: there are numerous things to be achieved in this life, for you to waste your time, or allow others to. Time is running out!!!

Investing your time begins with what you do, from the time you wake up, till you get back in bed at night. How do you spend each waking moment? For example your time in the shower, drive or commute to work, lunch break, drive back from work etc. (Ref, page 190-192)

A song that is relevant to this subject of time is one by Simi titled “selense" video here.

Ten Key takeaways:

  1. Believe in God.
  2. Believe in yourself, cos God believes in you.
  3. Always find several alternatives to solving problems.
  4. Take action; learn a skill, make that call, read a book, submit that application, just do it!
  5. Bounce back from failure, learn from it and keep moving.
  6. Leave no room for fear and doubt.
  7. Loose the victim mentality.
  8. Decide what you want from life, cos that is what you get!!
  9. Never, ever stop learning, the difference between where you are and where you want to be is a “knowledge gap”.
  10. Do everything with a touch of excellence, it will eventually speak for you.
